Bloomsburg University

The Fenstemaker Alumni House at Bloomsburg University had functioned as the Alumni Association's headquarters for several decades. The original neo-colonial structure dated to the 1920s and a significant code compliance program was implemented requiring seven negotiated variances from the State Industrial Board.

A program of additions was part of the project, including a 1,200 SF Great Room for alumni functions, a catering kitchen, new public restrooms, new reception area, and a new accessible entrance and lobby.

Particular care was taken to maintain the character of the existing building which presents a well-known image to the community along Lightstreet Road. The new entrance orients the new public spaces towards the rest of the University's campus.
